Twas the Day after Christmas....

and all through the house... only DeVon doing work and the rest barely stirring..not even the cats!

Well, it’s the Day After Christmas and we got home this morning at 6:30 am.. Was not much traffic on the road and DeVon only saw one cop radaring.. .of course Henry County, Georgia!

It was a nice trip.. and quick one to Florida for Christmas.  We traveled at night.. which was the best decision we made.  Traffic was not bad and we had more time there that way.

We had a nice time with DeVon's Mom on Christmas Eve.. Pizza and Church... an unusual Christmas Eve dinner for us.  We usually take her out to dinner.  His sister and her family were there and they were not going to church with us so that was why the pizza.  Anyway.. Christmas Eve at church with her is getting has been a tradition for the past yew years.  With the kids getting older it might have been the last one with us all.

Back to Mom's.. and Jen to the place she is dog sitting.. Was the first year not to have Jen wake up in the same house with us on Christmas Day.  I have a feeling it will be a year of firsts.  She did come to Mom's before the rest of the family so we could have a little family time before they arrived.

With all my brothers and sisters and their family's there in Mom's little house.. it's FULL and we had a wonderful day.  Enjoying each other and knowing that times when we ALL will be able to be there might not be many more.. there were cameras flashing all day and we even had pictures of all Mom's Grandchildren and then all of us!  Was fun.. I bet the video of the picture taking is hilarious!

Back to work tomorrow…..

Thank You God for my family and the time we have had together.  Thank You for Jesus and His earthly parents willingness to be obedient to you.  Thank You for the time to reflect on Your great gift to all mankind in sending Your only Son.  Thank You for all Your good gifts.  I am truly Blessed..

Well... it's been a while.. again.  Less than a week before Christmas. This year has flown by.  Seems like my life is just flying by.. don't know how it seems like the days and weeks just blow by and I can't really figure out how that is happening.  I just know it does.

Jen and I drove to Lakeland, Fla for the Baptism of my Brother-in-Law and nephew.  It was a wonderful time with my Sister and the rest of the family.  Was the first time we have all been in church together since probably Mary and Mike's Wedding.  Only Elizabeth was missing.  She was missed.

Their pastor did a wonderful job with the service and it was very moving.  I really love my brother-in-law.  He has show love and forgiveness even before God drew him to Himself.  It was a blessing to be able to share the day that he made that confession of faith.  Dylan also is a very special young man and will be a great man of God in his own right.

I flew home, that was a much nicer experience than the drive down.  Only an hour and about 30 mins!  The weather there was yucky all weekend..not that it was much better when I got back to Atl!

Back at work... today.  It will be a crazy week there with so many out for the holidays and the crazy way people behave during this time of year.  Today I got a call from a crazed mom.  She was upset that she couldn't seem to find anyone that would help her.  I tried my best but was not really much help.  I tried to calm her down and let her know she shouldn't be telling me she was going to "Blow his  *&(*&()*&()*&)(&*  head off!" that she could get arrested for those threats.   Why can't we all just get along?

Oh well,  the evening was better.  I spent time with my girlfriend Rhona.  She will be leaving tomorrow to go to FLA to be with her family for Christmas.  We exchanged gifts and shared time together.  I do love her. I will miss her very much when she moves back to FLA for good.  On the way to her house I passed a church with a sign that read  "Merry Christ X"  Made me chuckle...  What do you think Jesus would think of all this controversy?  Seems to me it's all wacked... Wish it was a simpler time... (sigh)  How about "Happy Birthday Jesus" and forget about all the gifts for everyone else!  Oh well..

It's late and I'm rambling..  Thank you God for another day, for loving me, and for the Christ in Christmas..

Amen

It's 4:19am... Do you know where your children are?

Well.. It's 4:19am and It's just me and the girls (two cats... Alexis and Krystal)  The boys are in North GA stalking Bambi's Dad and Mum!  And Jen.. (let me check) well she isn't online that I can tell... so that must mean that she is sleeping or studying for her finals in Mandeville, LA...

It's cold!!!!!!!! 27 degrees here in Atlanta!  I bet the boys are freezing there guns off in the North Georgia mountains.  I need to crawl back into bed.  Just woke wide awake and was drawn by the glow of the monitor down the hall! LOL

Next week I'll be driving down with Jen to O-Town for My brother in-law and nephew's Baptism!  It's wonderful and I am so looking forward to it.  Will be a short trip for me! I'll be flying home on Sunday night to work the 4 days before driving back down for Christmas.

It was an enjoyable week at work.  I'm so thankful that I have a job I don't mind getting up and going to. Even though I'm between between training someone for my old duties and being trained for the new ones.. I am able to be a "utility clerk" and help everyone else get caught up.. Even managed to score some comp time to build up that time to be able to take time off.  I so want to go to Italy this  year with Rhona!

Tomorrow (later this morning) I have a dress rehearsal for my Christmas concert with the Chamber Singers.. We are singing with an Orchestra this year.  I'm so looking forward to that.  (singing with the Orchestra not the dress rehearsal on Saturday MORNING!!)  Then It will be a Christmas card writing day..

Well I better get a few more hours of sleep... maybe I woke because I bet the boys are up getting ready to go out and freeze off the butts to stalk their prey!

Thank you God for the comfort of your Peace and the warmth of your Unconditional Love!

Life continues to speed on by... time seems to move so quickly.. I can not believe that it's already December.. where did 2005 go?

This weekend DeVon and I drove to Eustis, FL on a trip to pick up some things that were his father's.  It was a very fast trip.. left about 4 pm on Saturday and was back by 10:45 pm on Sunday night.

We got in a trip to the flea market on Sunday and Lunch with his Mom before driving back.  Flea Markets sure aren't what they use to be.  Half of it seemed to be a GIANT dollar store!

The weather was unseasonably warm which DeVon and I felt even more because it was really COLD when we left Atlanta.  There were people in Shorts! umm it's 27 Degrees here this morning!

Well I didn't make it up in time to get to TUESDAY MORNINGS this morning before work.. soo well I HATE SHOPPING.. I do as a rule. But in my old age I guess it makes me think we have made Christmas into something way wrong!  It's Jesus’ B'day.. not ours.    Now that I have gotten my bah Humbug out... Christmas in a non religious way.. (oxymoron?) is for children I suppose.

Thank you God that you sent your ONLY son to earth to suffer and die for ME... not worthy and so VERY Grateful...
